The Tabán Festival looks back to decades of tradition (except for a 10-year break).

Budapesti people celebrate the first day of May with live concerts from early afternoon till late night in the Tabán area in Buda.

This year’s performers include prestigious Hungarian rock & blues bands:

• 16:50 Ádám Török and the Mini

• 18:00 Beatrice

• 19:10 Bill and Hobo reunited

• 20:20 Tátrai Band

The Tabán concerts used to be all about rebelation against the communist regime, today it has a more relaxed atmosphere with the most popular Hungarian pop-rock bands giving concerts all afternoon.

Millenaris Park & Buildings

Foodies are not the only visitors of this gastro festival. Eating hand made cheeses, drinking quality house wines and craft beers, tasting jams and honeys made with love appeal to many visitors. Eat, drink and be merry in gourmet style in this open air event in Budapest.

A celebration of Spanish wines is being held at the Duna Palota on 3 May. The exhibition features the products of 70 Spanish wineries, and culinary delicacies to go with the drinks. Some of the producers will also be appearing to present their winemaking techniques to the audience.

This festival on 5 May is the biggest free dog-related event in the city, held at Olimpia Park. The aim is to raise awareness about responsible animal ownership and to promote the adoption of homeless pets with the collaboration of dedicated shelters. The festival features fun activities such as a pet & owner photo shoots and various concerts.
