New Year Concerts in the Danube Palace

Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra – New Year Concert

3. January, 2018., Pesti Vigadó

On 3 January, the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra give their annual New Year concert at the ceremonial hall of the Pesti Vigadó. The ensemble often performs at illustrious venues, accompanied by first-class soloists. Their guest for this occasion is singer Edina Szirtes, aka ‘Mókus’.

‘Zúzmara Winter Half Marathon’

14. January, 2018., Hungexpo

Runners are going to gather for the third time at the Hungexpo premises to run a half marathon in the middle of winter. Race starts at 10am, while from 1:45pm participants can challenge themselves over a 10 km or a 5 km distance during the Running Festival, happening at the same place in the afternoon hours.

Hot Beer & Hot Wine Days

08 – 14. January, 2018., Bálna

Selection of various autumn traditional drinks: hot chocolate with marshmallow, tea with lemon and ginger, white pumpkin spicy sangria, mulled wine. On wooden rustic table, copy space, selective focus

Opening hours: every day: 10.00 – 24.00

Even if you don’t like beer try the hot version in the Bálna Bisztró in mid-January.

It’s a popular drink in Poland and said to be a perfect cure for common cold or relieve the symptoms of flu.

Besides hot beer, you can also have fragrant hot wine.

The Bisztró is also an excellent place for a breakfast or brunch, lunch or just a cocktail or coffee.

The terrace offers an amazing view of the Buda side and the river Danube.

Mulled Wine Festival

Organ Concerts

Wednesdays at 16.00, Inner City Parish Church

Franz Liszt‘s church also host concerts on Wednesdays at 16.00 performed by Gábor Szotyori Nagy on the historic pipe organ of the church.

Concert lasts cc. 45 minutes.

This lovely temple of medieval origin stands in the city centre at the Pest bridgehead of the Erzsébet bridge.
