Kiskertpiac farmers’ and design market returns to Anker’t with a winter edition. On 2 December, you can browse unique presents for Christmas from 10am to 4pm.
World-famous Royal Moscow Ballet visits Hungary on 3 December with their amazing performance of Swan Lake. The troupe was founded by Anatoly Emelianov, their first show took place in 2002. By their 10th anniversary they had 20 modern and 15 classical ballet performances behind them. They have toured extensively through the years, including Tanzania, Zambia and Kenya, too.
This winter, Hungarian contemporary circus company Recirquel presents a new production evoking the atmosphere of the winter holidays. The magical world of Crystal awaits children and adults alike in a snow-covered circus tent erected in front of the Müpa building. The story recalls classic fairy tales and a story about mistress of the crystal world, all to get you in the holiday mood. Performances start at 11am and 3pm. Some 70 vendors will be attending the monthly record fair at the Dürer Kert, with cassettes, CDs and vinyl. December’s market takes place on Sunday the 14th.
Budapest is home to one of the most charming (and affordable) Christmas markets in Europe that takes place on Vörösmarty Square (09. November – 31. December 2018.) in the city centre. The market is a great source for quality handmade gifts: knitted hats, leather products, pottery, jewelry, kitchen utensils, home decor items, and culinary delicacies.

The Christmas Market and Advent Festival at Szt. István Sqaure in front of the Basilica is the second most popular festive fair in Hungary’s capital.
The largest church of the city gives a spectacular background to the fair and there’s also a small ice rink.
Lovely wooden cottages offer various local craft products, handmade Christmas bonbons, mulled wine and other drinks, and quality street food from lángos to gourmet burgers.
