urbanistic experiment for public space development. This is second volume of the free event that takes place a
the Liberty bridge which will be closed for traffic. Grab your own bottle of wine, sit back and have a great time! Th
splendiferous view is granted with a chance of meeting some nice people.

Sziget Festival
8 – 15. August, 2018. Óbuda Island, Budapest

Sziget Festival is a massive music and cultural festival taking place in Budapest. Begun in the wake of the fall of the
Soviet Union as a means to provide arts programming for students, the festival has grown into one of the biggest
and most iconic in the world. Taking over the 266 acre Óbuda Island for an entire week each year in August, Sziget
offers over 1,000 performances and has been labeled the Burning Man of Europe for its otherworldly atmosphe-
re. Annually presenting lineup consisting of the biggest names from all genres across 9 main stages, as well as an
amusement park, chill out areas, a beach and more, the festival truly has something for everyone.
Sziget is located exactly at the Filatorigát stop of the HÉV (suburban railway – H5) and at the Óbudai-Sziget stop
of the boat service.

Festival of Folk Art
17-20. August, 2018. Buda Castle

The largest festival of folk arts in the Buda Castle is centered around Hungarian artisans, who’ll have an opportunity
to show and promote their art in this large scale, four day fest.
The main topic of this year’s event is embroidery, one of the richest and most varied branch of Hungarian folk arts.
Everybody is welcome, there will be fairs, exhibitions, and you can try your hand at arts and crafts workshops.

Walking tour in the abandoned Jewish cemetery

This tour takes place at the old Jewish cemetery which was initially opened in 1874. Unfortunately some sepulchres
got stolen or destroyed over the years, but this historical site is still worth to explore.

Generali Night Run Budapest
4. August, 2018. Várkert Bazaar

Discover one of Europe’s most beautiful capitals on a summer evening – the course goes up to Buda Castle and along the Danube offering participants a great opportunity to do a little sightseeing: city lights, beautiful bridges, the Buda Castle Funicular, Várkert Bazaar and Parliament. You can choose between a 7 km and a 14km race, or attempt a half marathon.
